Almost 500 VoluntEARS a wave – and then the wave! – During the cleaning of the sea

Disney VoluntEARS Help Clean the Coastline

Enthusiastic Disney VoluntEARS couldn't resist doing "the wave" first "of a wave" to help our oceans for offline over the weekend to clean up the coastline of Brevard County. VoluntEARS worked in collaboration with the Ocean Conservancy, Keep Brevard Beautiful, Coast Guard of the United States and the authority of Port Canaveral, as part of annual Florida Coastal Cleanup.

I had the honour of welcoming the VoluntEARS and assist the cleanup, and I can say without hesitation that there is no better way to spend the morning after all, what is better to enjoy the natural beauty of Florida while helping to protect it?

Joined by friends and family, almost 500 VoluntEARS – a record number – contributed made making the beaches more fun and secure environment for the fauna marina for all cleaning 2500 pounds of trash on almost four kilometres of coastline near the Disney Cruise Line terminal in Port Canaveral.

Starting from January 2011, Port Canaveral is home to the ship Disney Cruise Line's latest, the dream Disney.I'm thrilled to report that, exploring a wide range of energy-saving initiatives and selecting more advanced equipment, the team Disney Cruise Line has built the most efficient ship.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the International Coastal Cleanup, largest volunteer event in the world to free our waterways of debris.Disney Involvement in coastal cleanup of Ocean Conservancy international extends over seven years; since 2003, more than 2,300 VoluntEARS have collected more than 28,000 pounds of trash on events of Florida Coastal Cleanup.

Trash oceans is an ongoing problem, year-round. in addition to participating in cleanup of navigation in your community (all waterways eventually lead to the sea!), you can start a "sea change" reducing waste. for example, since most collection during cleanup litterfall consists of disposable objects, can help, by choosing the reusable shopping bags, water bottles, cups of coffee and food containers.
